Utrecht Fixed Gear

Hey everyone! Next weekend is going to be a busy one, the Giro D’Italia will be in town, there will be the Polomania  polo tournament at the Olympic stadium on Saturday as well as the Bicycle Film Festival at the Tuschinski Theater and afterwards the opening party of the Sur Place  exhibition at the Mediamatic Bank (Vijzelstraat 68). There will be drinks, DJ’s, goldsprints, bikes and art to look at. So come out, you don’t want to miss this!

To top it all off, we’re holding the screening of Death Pedal 2 on Sunday afternoon at 5pm at our shop (Kinkerstraat 14). We’re showing the movie on a big screen, plus we’re opening Saskia Haex’ art exhibition at our shop. She makes rad paintings and screenprints, so come check them out! We’re also finally opening the cafe part of our shop upstairs, so there will be drinks and cupcakes… what more do you want?!

Gijs // Pristine Fixed Gear

De jongens van Pristine hebben het Bicycle Film Festival naar Amsterdam gehaald.

Voor de eerste keer in de geschiedenis van het festival is het in de Nederland, de screenings zijn in het Tuschinski theater op 8 Mei.

Verder wou ik nog een “Big up’s” geven aan Sammy en Gijs en iedereen er om heen, voor alle vette shit die met de start van de Giro gaat plaatsvinden!

Met de start van de Giro d’Italia en de Tour de France in Nederland is 2010 het wielerjaar van het decennia. Als de Giro op 9 mei dan ook nog eens eindigt in Utrecht, is het voor de stad ook reden genoeg om Mei tot fietsmaand uit te roepen.

Naar aanleiding daarvan zal RTV Utrecht een zestal aflevering van het (gelegenheids) programma ¨Ga toch fietsen¨ uitzenden en zal er ook een Giro special van de krant ¨Uit in Utrecht¨ worden uitgegeven.

Nu is het wachten of dit alles ook daadwerkelijk gericht is op het wielrennen of om de de gigantische vergrijsde populatie weer op de ¨hybride¨ fiets te krijgen. Tot die tijd is het in ieder geval goed om te horen dat de stad het fietsen probeert te promoten.
